Nyhavn

A historical place where ships from around the world docked and filled the harbour with sailors. Nyhavn (New Harbour)’s former merchant houses – delightful old and crooked buildings – have been beautifully renovated and many now house popular restaurants and bars.

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is the most famous tourist attraction in Denmark. You will find her by Copenhagen's waterfront. She is a national landmark and synonymous with the city.

Go Royal

Copenhagen is a royal city, home of one of the world's oldest monarchies. The present Queen, Margrethe II, resides in the Royal Amalienborg Palace in the heart of the city. Each day at noon, watch the 'pomp and circumstance' of the Changing of the Guard ceremony. You'll also find many statues, monuments, and other royal touches throughout the city. Or venture outside the city to a majestic touch of Royalty at the Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød and experience an extraordinary cache of 11th century Viking ships, only 35 minutes from Copenhagen.

Tivoli Gardens

Tivoli Gardens, the highly renowned amusement park, is usually top of everyone's list of places to visit in Copenhagen. Founded in 1843 it is a beautiful, romantic park with numerous restaurants and lanterns in the trees creating a unique atmosphere. Please go to their web site for opening dates. Sightseeing by bike

Rent a bike – the young Copenhageners' favourite means of transportation – and explore the city on two wheels. There are more than 300 km of cycle paths in and around the city so getting on a bike, really is a fun way to get to know the Danish capital. You can easily get hold of a bike at one of the many city bike racks dotted around the city centre for a deposit of only 20 DKK.
